It’s been a busy few weeks for BYB.
The extreme bare knuckle promotion has held events in London and Florida, and soon debuts in South Carolina.
Here’s some news and notes.
WATCH: Dada 5000 Called Out
Minutes after defeating Tony Lopez for the BYB Heavyweight Title at BYB 13 last weekend, new champ DJ Linderman issued a challenge.
His target: none other than BYB co-founder and backyard legend Dada 5000.
“This is the most prestigious belt I’ve put on my shoulder yet,” Linderman said.
“Give me one man next, and that’s Dada 5000 himself. Get up here, big boy.”
Dada didn’t back down from the new champ.
“I put that belt around your waist and I’ll take it off ya,” Dada said.
Decastro Chasing Rematch
British bare knuckler Nathan Decastro wants to run it back with Lorawnt “Smash” Nelson.
The two collided at BYB 12: London Brawl in October.
Decastro knocked Nelson down twice-the second time with a jab.
Nelson battled back, and the fight was stopped because of Decastro’s left eye after three rounds.
After that fight, BYB commentator and former world champion Paulie Malignaggi and others talked about a rematch. A cut stoppage is rarely a satisfying ending to a fight.
Decastro is now calling for a rematch.

Decastro will have to wait. Next up for Smash is a title fight main event at BYB 14 next month. Smash faces fellow unbeaten Sam Liera for the interim middleweight title.
Maybe Decastro gets a chance at the winner. Or BYB does a Nelson-Decastro rematch when they return to the UK in 2023.

BYB 14 takes place on 9 December in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
As mentioned, Lorawnt Nelson and Sam Liera meet in a highly anticipated interim title fight.
The broadcaster for the event is now official.
