BYB 19 Fight Card and Viewing Information

BYB 19 Liera vs Fernandez Poster

After promoting the inaugural Police Gazette International Cup in London in June, BYB continues to make history.

The Florida, USA based promotion returns home on Thursday, 10 August for BYB 19. It’s the first time FOUR title fights have taken place on a bare knuckle boxing fight card.

Headlining the event is a unification clash for the BYB Super Middleweight Title. Champion Jose “The Goat” Fernandez makes his return from injury against undefeated interim champion Sam Liera.

Fernandez (3-0, 3 KOs) has been out of the ring since defeating JD Burns for the title in March 2022. He meets his toughest opponent yet in Liera (5-0, 3 KOs), who has defeated veteran Leo Pla, rising prospect Ryan Jett, and contender Lorawnt “Smash” Nelson.

Liera showed a champion’s heart in surviving late knockdowns to win a close decision against Nelson last year. On Thursday, he gets the chance to show he’s the top gun in BYB’s stacked super middleweight division.

Speaking of Nelson, the combat sports veteran will also get a title opportunity. Nelson (3-1, 3 KOs) faces BKB fighter James Connelly for the Police Gazette Diamond World Title. It’s a chance well deserved. Nelson holds wins over former BKB champion Rico Franco and former boxing standout Nathan Decastro.

In another title fight, UFC veteran Andre Ewell faces Brazil’s Carlos Alexandre (3-1, 3 KOs). The bout is for the BYB Welterweight Title.

The other clash for gold pits Harold Mcqueen (1-0, 1 KO) versus Brandon Birr (2-0, 2 KOs). Birr has shown toughness and good power in his wins against Walel Watson and Kendall Ward.

McQueen made a sensational debut, stopping previously unbeaten Pablo Caballero in two rounds. The BYB Featherweight Title will be on the line.

Bare knuckle veterans Josh “The Hammer” Burns and Zion Tomlinson are also in action in separate bouts.
