Bare Knuckle Legend Jimmy Sweeney is returning to the ring.
The Celtic Warrior announced he’s facing Jonny Tello at BKB 32 on 21 May.
The Tello fight is Sweeney’s first fight since a devastating loss to Barrie Jones at BKB 28 last September.
Jones knocked Sweeney down twice before the fight was stopped. The ringside doctor halted the bout because of a bad cut over Sweeney’s left eye.
Sweeney on Hiatus
Sweeney is a top BKB fighter and recognised as one of the best bare knuckle fighters in the world. The Jones loss at BKB 28 was his second defeat to the Welshman.
After the fight, Sweeney said he planned to take a year off. The return against Tello is a bit over nine months since the Jones defeat.
Tough Guy Tello
Tello debuted for BKB at BKB 30 in Phuket, Thailand this past January.
The Canadian wasn’t victorious but showed plenty of toughness.
Tello lost a unanimous decision to Jones, becoming the first man to ever last the distance against “The Welsh Wrecking Machine.”
He gets another big opportunity against a top BKB fighter in Sweeney.
